A subject matter expert or SME (pronounced “smee”) is, in military parlance, an expert in some kind of field. At Cycorp, the term also means someone who is not a Cyclist that we are working with to get knowledge in a specific area into Cyc. Sometimes the SME will enter the knowledge themselves.
