Inference parameters are the knobs and switches of Cyc inference. The settings chosen for each inference parameter control how the Cyc inference engine goes about trying to prove a query, encouraging certain methods, discouraging others, and setting limits on the resources it can use – e.g., on time, number of answers, search depth, etc.
