International Alliance
Basic:
An international alliance is a type of organization of countries and alliance.
Documentation:
Comment: The collection of all agreements between geopolitical agents where the parties to the agreement agree to work in concert with respect to some endeavor or set of issues. An international alliance may be formed for a comparatively specific purpose, like the DesertShieldCoalition, or it may be formed with a wide range of goals in mind, like the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Also, alliances may be relatively brief or may be quite long-standing. Alliances are often established through some sort of formal treaty. Their participants are almost always instances of IndependentCountry acting as international agents. A situation where one or more of the participants is an international corporation like the Lippo Group or Saudi Aramco, or some other global economic entity like the International Monetary Fund, might conceivably be a borderline case.
Miscellaneous:
NATO and the Black Sea Environmental Programme are international alliances.
An international coalition is a type of international alliance.
