Support for Analysts and Researchers

The Cyc Analytic Environment (CAE) provides a multi-domain semantic platform to provide analysts with answers to complex questions. The CAE allows analysts to pose questions in English as well as other interfaces appropriate to their domain. The CAE interprets the analysts' questions, identifies the information sources required to answer it, and integrates domain and general knowledge with open-source and enterprise data to provide answers in English or via other modalities appropriate to the domain and the information to be conveyed (e.g., maps, time-lines, or charts). The analyst may drill-down into the answer to view the CAE's rationale, including all the supporting rules and data. CAE applications in several domains have been developed or are under development, including:

• Medical Records Analysis

  The Medical CAE provides a semantic interface to medical records databases to support tasks such as cohort formation for clinical trials and research studies, automated customization of client collateral (such as context-dependent views of web pages), and flexible organization and formatting of medical information to satisfy diverse reporting standards.

• Intelligence / Counter-terrorism Analysis

  The Counter-terrorism CAE is a knowledge base of structured information about terrorists, terrorist organizations, and terrorist activities along with a natural-language question-answering interface for intelligence analysts.

• Financial Analysis

  The Financial CAE enables financial analysts to pose questions that will impact their investment and trading decisions and receive answers that exploit rich relations among open-source and enterprise data.

TextPrism: Intelligent Information Dissemination

TextPrism delivers information based on an individual's specific interests. It goes well beyond keyword search by using a flexible and extensible library of "interest rules" to match a subscriber's profile information against each document's semantic content, returning only those likely to be of interest.

CycSecure: Information Network Risk Management

CycSecure is a security risk management and network intrusion prevention tool.
